All parts are inspected before shipping. In certain cases, some customers require us to do a precision final inspection. These results are also recorded and filed with the job. Some customers require us to send a copy of an inspection report. It is the responsibility of our shipping department to make sure that all appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment and to follow customer specific instructions concerning billing, shipping and couriers.

Turning
Our highly automated turning operation uses a Gantry system and CNC technology to offer 24/7 operation on made-for-print jobs. Automation and high capacity gives you the benefits of quick turnaround and cost efficiency.
We have four turning machines with bar feeders that will auto feed raw materials, turn the piece, and drop the completed product into the finished bin, all with minimal human intervention. We also provide live tooling on turning capabilities.
Our large turning centers feature 27” x 84” capacity with 13” diameter turn thru steady rests. That’s greater capacity than most other shops.
We can turn, mill and drill a quality product quickly and economically.
Milling
Our turnkey milling department specializes in both vertical and horizontal milling. Using the latest Fourth Axis, CNC equipment and CNC technology, we can mill anything to your specifications. If you can design it, we can make it. We can also reverse engineer any of your existing parts.

Broaching & Keyseating
Broaching and keyseating are used in creating the keyways inside of a gear. By offering both operations, we are able to select the best method for an individual production run.
Hydraulic pull style broaching is used for short runs and production. Classic Gears and Machining has many standard keyway broaches in stock. Internal splines: hex, square and various irregular shapes can be produced with this method. Keyseating for larger keyways is also available.

Most machine shops don’t have it, but we do
Our full service machining facility features a pillar heating induction hardener induction hardening for 1” to 12” diameter pieces, limited to 1045 steels. For sprockets and gears, we can handle any piece up to 12” diameter in-house for quick turnaround.
If you buy sprockets or gears with hardened teeth, you should know that not all hardening is created equal. In many cases, parts sold as having hardened teeth are sub-standard in terms of what we consider to be good heat treating.
